It was not what the Tulsa women's golf team had set out to do, but the Hurricane women completed the final round at the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship with its best round of the tournament, a five-over par 293. The Hurricane finished in 12th place with rounds of 302-297-296-293 for a 36-over par 1188 total.

Duke captured its second team title in the last four years, by overtaking Arizona, which had led for the previous three rounds. The Blue Devils carded a final round one-under par 287 and completed the tournament with a 12-over par 1164 total. Arizona, Auburn and Texas tied for second place, all with 1170 totals, while last year's NCAA Champion Georgia finished in fifth-place with a 1176 total. Rounding out the top-10 teams were Florida and Oklahoma (1179) in a sixth place tie, Ohio State in eighth-place and a ninth-place tie between Arizona State and Pepperdine.

Duke's Virada Nirapathpongporn led from start to finish to capture individual medallist honors. She finished with a nine-under par total of 279 after today's even round of 72. There was a four-way tie for second-place at four-under par for the tournament between Auburn's Danielle Downey, Arizona's Lorena Ochoa, Georgia's Summer Sirmons and Pepperdine's Lindsey Wright.

For Tulsa, senior All-American Stacy Prammanasudh saved her best for the last day, carding a final round three-under par 69 today. She finished with a three-over par 291 total for the four-day event. Her 13th place performance gave Prammanasudh a top-15 finish in all 11 tournaments this season.

Prammanasudh had six birdies today, including four on the front nine. For the first time this week, she birdied the hole that gave her trouble on the first day of the tournament. Prammansaudh birdied hole three after a triple bogey on day one, a par on day two and a bogey in the third round.

Prammanasudh commented about her final collegiate round of golf, "I guess I had nothing to lose today and everything to prove. I can't say I played like crap the last three days, but not as good as I should play. Basically I just wanted to prove it to myself. If you looked at the scoreboard it was like, 'Oh my god, where's Stacy?'"

In closing out her career, Prammanasudh has placed among the top-20 in 41 of 44 career tournaments, had 33 top-10 finishes, placed among the top-five 25 times and finished either first or second 15 times. Her 10 tournament wins is second most in school history to only Nancy Lopez's 11 career victories.

Junior Maiko Senda carded a four-over par 76 today and finished in 55th place with a score of 12-over par Senda began the day strong with a three-under par score after the first five holes, however, double bogey's on holes seven and nine put her one over at the turn, and she struggled on the back nine with three bogey's. Sophomore Julie Tvede had her second straight one-over par 73 and finished with a 13-over par 301 for 60th place.

The Hurricane also counted sophomore Suzie Fisher's 75 today. Senior Dani Mallon finished with a six-over par 78.
