TU Women's Tennis Team Kicks Off 2003 Season

Alicia Pillay begins the season as the 20th-ranked player in the nation.

The TU women's tennis team, which was scheduled to kick off the 2003 season against Hampton last Saturday, will begin the season Sunday at 9:00 a.m. against Southwest Missouri State instead. The match against Hampton was cancelled. There is no charge for admission.

Tulsa, which returns two seniors and three juniors and features three freshmen on the roster, looks to be very strong in 2003. TU begins the season ranked 56th nationally, while seniors Alicia Pillay and Aleksandra Durska begin the season ranked 20th and 102nd respectively among the nation's top singles players.

The Golden Hurricane begins its fifth season under Head Coach Paige McMurray. McMurray is the school's all-time winningest coach with an overall record of 62-33.
