Lady Techsters Outlast Golden Hurricane in WAC Volleyball

Tulsa, Okla. - The Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech survived a three-game battle in the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Thurdsay night with a 3-0 (35-33, 34-32, 30-26) Western Athletic Conference victory over host Tulsa. Junior Joy Okpa led the Tech charge with a match-high 13 kills and 10 digs.
Tulsa was led by a trio of double-figure performers. Junior Kristin Bailey posted 12 kills, while fellow junior Dana Weddle and freshman Amy Meyer added 11 kills apiece. Setter Vanessa Thon also posted a match-high 41 assists for the Golden Hurricane.
TU (11-12, 2-8 WAC) will close out its home schedule on Saturday with a 7 p.m. contest against SMU in the Reynolds Center. The Mustangs currently lead the Eastern Division of the WAC. Louisiana Tech improves to 15-12 on the season, 3-7 in the WAC.
