Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa rowing team will be in action, March 22-24, at the Longhorn Invitational, facing Iowa on Friday, Texas and Kansas State on Saturday, and SMU on Sunday on Town Lake in Austin, Texas.

The three-day invitational features head-to-head competition between the various schools and will include Novice 8, Varsity 4, Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 races.

"The Longhorn Invitational is one of the best regattas that we have in the South region," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "Being invited to the Longhorn is an indication of the level at which Tulsa has competed successfully in the past and are working toward for the future."

"The team is incredibly excited to get to race in this regatta," Harris added. "We had a good race at home against Creighton last weekend, but we know we are capable of being faster. The team is inspired by the fact that we have improved so much in the last six months and they are looking forward to racing teams that will be in the top-20 this season. We feel as a team that if we are aggressive and work our race plan, we should be able to do well at this regatta."
