TU Women's Tennis Team Dominates Aggies, 6-1

Tulsa, Okla. - The 53rd-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team dominated New Mexico State, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Lobo Tennis Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Golden Hurricane's 30th-ranked tandem, Alicia Pillay and Aleksandra Durska, netted an 8-1 victory over Sandra Mayr and Isabelle Mignot in the No. 1 doubles position, while Daniela Muscolino and Zoe Buhagiar earned an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 position over Samantha May and Wendy van Beusekom. Tulsa's Mariana Barrios and Donata Majauskaite, however, could not hold on to a victory, falling at the No. 2 doubles slot, 9-8.
Tulsa's 8th-ranked Pillay led the Golden Hurricane in singles competition, defeating Veerman, 6-3, 7-5, but it was Durska who posted the most impressive score of the afternoon as she netted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Porobic in the No. 2 slot. Tiffany Smith rounded out the top-half of the lineup, but fell 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 to Mignot.
In the No. 3 position, Muscolino defeated van Beusekom, 7-5, 6-3, while Majauskaite posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the No. 5 position, and Timberly Greenly won 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 6 slot.
TU will face New Mexico tomorrow beginning at noon at the Lobo Tennis Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
