Durska Garners Second Player of the Week Honor

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa's Aleksandra Durska was named the Western Athletic Conference women's tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 3-9, as announced by the conference office today. This is the second player of the week award for Durska this season, as she was also honored for the week of January 19-25.

Durska, a senior from Pobiedziska, Poland, won her two singles matches and two doubles matches of the week, helping her team against New Mexico State and New Mexico.

She posted a very impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory over New Mexico State's Lejla Porobic in the No. 2 singles position, and upset New Mexico's 75th-ranked Tjasa Suvak, 6-3, 6-3. Durska posts a 19-7 singles record, and is 9-4 during the spring season.

In doubles action, Durska teamed up with Alicia Pillay as the 30th-ranked doubles tandem in the nation. Together they defeated New Mexico State's Sandra Mayr and Isabelle Mignot, 8-1, and New Mexico's Suvak and Maja Kovacek, 8-4. They post a 16-6 doubles record.
