Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa rowing team will be in action again this Friday and Saturday as they race a Varsity 8, a 2nd Varsity 8 and a Novice 4 boat at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

"This will be an exciting, but tough race for us," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "It will be interesting to see if we have the fortitude to make a quick turnaround from having good results last weekend to racing again this weekend."

Tulsa's goal is to put three boats in the finals, but it will be tough, as TU hasn't had the opportunity to practice much due to tough weather conditions. "I know we haven't practiced the way would have liked these last few weeks, but I think the women will step up to the challenge and go after their goals," Harris stated.

The Golden Hurricane is coming off a good showing at the William Knecht Cup last weekend, but will face tough competition again this weekend. "We doubled up in the pair, four and eight last weekend and we learned what it takes to race boats of equal or faster speed," said Harris. "There are going to be six or seven teams that could win each race, which is a good field for us to be in because it will challenge us and help us to become stronger throughout the season."
