TU Women's Tennis Team Falls to TCU, 6-1

Tulsa, Okla. - The 54th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team fell, 6-1, to 45th-ranked TCU on Saturday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ilona Somers recorded her first win over a ranked opponent, 89th-ranked Saber Pierce, in the No. 3 position.


Tulsa's (7-3) 46th-ranked doubles tandem, Daniela Muscolino and Ilona Somers, dropped an 8-0 decision to the Frog's (3-6) 38th-ranked duo, Ana Cetnik and Saber Pierce, in the No. 1 doubles position. The Golden Hurricane's 43rd-ranked Donata Majauskaite and Santie Delport lost in the No. 2 slot, 8-3, as Zoe Buhagiar and Kindsay Grimes fell 8-2 in the No. 3 position.

TU's 70th-ranked Muscolino lost her first match of the dual season, falling 6-3, 6-2 to TCU's Paty Aburto in the No. 1 slot, while Somers recorded her first win over a ranked opponent, 89th-ranked Pierce, in the No. 3 position.
