Achim Roth posted singles and doubles wins for the Golden Hurricane against Memphis.

Tulsa, Okla. - The No. 46-ranked University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated the Memphis Tigers Saturday, 6-1, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, to improve to 8-1 on the season.

The Golden Hurricane swept the six singles matches. Achim Roth registered a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Alex Bucewicz. Aleksander Charpantidis easily defeated James Spence, 6-2, 6-1. Ricardo Soriano downed Alex Jago, 7-6, 6-3.

Federico Soriano, Will Gray and Diego Camacho also posted singles wins for TU.

In doubles competition, Memphis won the doubles point by winning the best of three matches. The only TU victory coming from its No. 41-ranked team of Achim Roth and Aleksander Charpantidis over James Spence and Scott Felsenthal, 8-6.

The Golden Hurricane men's tennis team returns to action Saturday evening at 6 p.m. against the Bradley Braves.
