Tulsa Women's Tennis Team Blanked by A&M

Carla Zabaleta and the Golden Hurricane lost to the Texas A&M Aggies, 7-0.

Tulsa, Okla. - The No. 53-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team the #37-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, in duel match competition, losing 7-0 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the outdoor courts.

In singles action, TU junior Daniela Muscolino went to three sets with #84-ranked Helga Vierira. Muscolino won the first set before losing two to drop the match, 7-6, 3-6, 0-1. Sophomore Kindsay Grimes also went to three sets with Marisa Druss. Grimes won the first set, 6-3, led 5-3 in the second set but lost the match, 6-3, 6-7, 0-1.

Texas A&M's Anna Lubinsky, ranked #75, defeated TU freshman Carla Zabaleta, 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Timberly Greenly was leading for the Hurricane before having to retire from her match against Tiffany Clifford due to an ankle injury.

Tulsa also lost the doubles point to the Aggies.

Tulsa hits the road for three matches in a West Coast trip as they play New Mexico, New Mexico State and San Diego State.
