Tulsa Women's Tennis Team Falls at WAC Championship

Honolulu - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team, seeded No. 4, ended their season at the WAC Championships, falling to No. 5 seed Boise State, 4-2, at the Hawaii Tennis Complex in Honolulu in the quarterfinals. The Golden Hurricane concludes their season with an 11-12 record, while Boise State advances to semifinals for the first time since 2002.
Tulsa's two points came in singles competition from junior Daniela Muscolino and freshman Carla Zabaleta. Muscolino, currently ranked No. 84 in the country, defeated Alissa Ayling, 6-1, 6-0, at the number one ladder position. In the number two position, Zabaleta defeated Megan Bjorkman, 6-2, 6-2.
Tulsa lost the doubles point to the Broncos, losing both completed doubles matches. Muscolino and Zabaleta fell to Ayling and Bjorkman, 4-8. Boise State's Tiffany Coll and Nadja Woschek defeated Tiffany Smith and Santie Delport, 8-6.
