Two Tulsa Tennis Players Earn Preseason ITA Rankings

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa men's tennis player Ricardo Soriano and women's tennis player Daniela Muscolino, along with the women's doubles tandem of Muscolino and Carla Zabaleta, recorded preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Soriano netted the No. 111 ranking in the polls, as he posted a 24-11 record in singles play his freshman year at TU. He tallied victories in the Flight C championship match at the Crowne Plaza Invitational and in the Flight A backdraw at the Hurricane Invitational. Soriano registered all-Western Athletic Conference first team honors in singles competition.
Muscolino, who garnered a No. 52 singles ranking, owns a career 68-31 singles record, including a 15-11 mark against ranked opponents. A three-time all-WAC performer, Muscolino earned second-team honors as a freshman and first-team merits her sophomore and junior seasons, as well as WAC Player of the Year honors last year. She has also been selected to participate in the NCAA Singles Championship the past two seasons.
In doubles competition, Muscolino and Zabaleta garnered the No. 59 slot. The duo accumulated an 18-12 record last year, including a 13-8 mark in duel competition. The Golden Hurricane tandem earned first-team all-conference honors last year.
