Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Tulsa and Memphis volleyball teams battled to a five-game thriller, just like the two squads did last season. Unfortunately for the Golden Hurricane the outcome was the same, the home team won. The Tigers took the 3-2 (28-30, 30-22, 26-30, 30-20, 15-13). Last season, TU won a five-game thriller over the Tigers at the Reynolds Center.

Tulsa (19-5, 6-2 C-USA) had three players reach double-figures in kills, led by junior Kassiana Urnau with 22 kills. Fellow junior Fabiola Nepomuceno and senior Germana Hilario contributed 13 kills apiece for the Hurricane. Setter Julia Silva posted over 50 assists for the sixth time this season with 52 assists to go along with a match-high 23 digs. Urnau also posted a double-double with 17 digs for her 15th double-dobule of the season.

TU was held to a season low .139 hitting percentage, while the Tigers were only the fourth opponent this season to go over the .200 mark with a .227 hitting percentage.

Tulsa continues its road trip with a 1 p.m. match at UAB on Sunday, Oct. 15th.
