Tulsa Golfers in Ninth-Place at Lady Puerto Rico Classic

Rio Grande, Puerto Rico - The Tulsa women's golf team began the 2006 spring season today at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The Golden Hurricane is in ninth-place after one round with a 20-over par 308 at the par-72 Coco Beach Resort Golf Course.
Third-ranked and host Purdue leads the contest with a seven-over par 295, followed by 21st-ranked Kent State (297), ninth-ranked Arkansas (298), 22nd-ranked Florida (299) and 23rd-ranked Oklahoma State (300), to complete the top-five.
Sophomore Polly Travica leads TU with a one-over par 73 total for fifth-place. Michaela Cavener only trails her classmate by one stroke for a two-over par 74 for a 10th-place performance.
Senior Danielle Rosebury is in 46th-place with a seven-over par 79, while sophomore Leisl Hasbrouck posted an 82 total and Anna-Christina Kindgren is one stroke back with an 83 total.
North Carolina's Ann Laney leads all golfers with a four-under par 68. The next closest golfer is Purdue's Onnarin Sattayabanphot, three strokes back at 71.
The Golden Hurricane will continue action in the three-day competition beginning at 8:00 a.m. (EST) tomorrow.
