Tulsa Rowing Team Opens Spring Season on Saturday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa Women's Rowing Team heads to Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday to face the Kansas Jayhawks and the Drake Bulldogs. This regatta will mark the official opening of TU's spring racing season. Last week's scheduled opening event for the Hurricane against Creighton was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
"It will be good to finally get racing" said Tulsa Head Coach Kevin Harris. "It's tough to keep the edge on the rowers when they have not raced. I think they have done a pretty good job staying focused. The boats have been looking solid. If we can execute well, row relaxed, and stay focused then we should have good results this weekend."
Racing starts at 2:00 p.m. and will be held on the Kansas River at Burcham Park in Lawrence. Tulsa will be entered in the Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4+ "A", Varsity 4+ "B", and Novice 4+ events.
