Silva Named Conference USA Setter of the Week

Tulsa, Okla. - Junior setter Julia Silva recorded 201 assists in 17 games last week for The University of Tulsa, helping lead the Golden Hurricane to a trio of wins in five matches. For her efforts the second-year starter, earned her first Conference USA Setter of the Week honor. Silva earned the award four times in 2005.
Silvia averaged 11.82 assists per game on the week, while helping TU improve to 6-2 on the season. The junior also added 34 kills and five service aces for the Golden Hurricane and chipped in 58 digs. She hit the 50-assist mark twice, registering 52 against Oral Roberts and 51 against Central Arkansas.
The native of Rio de Janerio, Brazil notched 44.5 points for Tulsa was also named to the all-tournament team at the Econo Lodge/Centenary Volleyball Classic.
