Tulsa Volleyball Wins a Pair at Hilton-Arlington Invitational

Arlington, Texas - The University of Tulsa received 21 kills from junior Kassiana Urnau and 18 more from senior Germana Hilario its opening contest of the day, helping TU to a 3-0 (30-23, 30-28, 30-18) win over Duquesne. Tulsa followed that momentum with a five-game thriller against host Texas-Arlington. The Hurricane pulled out a 3-2 (25-30, 30-28, 30-25, 28-30, 17-15) victory.
Tulsa posted a .392 hitting percentage for the match against DU, second best mark for the season. The 62 kills the Hurricane recorded in the match were the most TU has had this year for a three-game match. A total of eight Hurricane hitters posted a kill in the contest.
Urnau posted her second straight double-double with 11 digs to go along with her 21 kills. Fellow junior Julia Silva also recorded a double-double with 43 assists and a team-high 14 digs. It was Silva's third twin-bagger of the year, while Urnau has four on the season.
Urnau and Hilario again led the TU attack with 26 and 22 kills apiece. Senior Amy Meyer and junior Fabiola Nepomuceno also reached double-figures in kills with 14 and 13, respectively. Silva nearly tied a career-best with 71 assists, with sophomore Malorey Grove nearly tying a school record with 37 digs against the Mavs.
