Tulsa’s Lauren Ramatowski Awarded Contract Extension

TULSA, Okla. — After leading the Golden Hurricane to a conference championship and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2012, Head Volleyball Coach Lauren Ramatowski's contract has been extended by The University of Tulsa after three successful seasons at the helm.
"Coach Ramatowski has elevated this program each and every season, and this year's American Conference championship is a historic milestone for our university," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Justin Moore. "Her ability to develop talent, create a winning culture and represent Tulsa with class is evident in the growth of the program. This extension reflects our confidence in her leadership and our belief that the best days of Tulsa Volleyball are still ahead."

After bringing in 10 newcomers and returning four players from the previous season, Ramatowski led Tulsa to a brilliant showing in 2025 in which they earned their first American Conference crown and seventh overall conference title, finished with an impressive 25-7 overall record and 12-4 mark in conference play and wowed the 918 Faithful with 10 wins at home in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Ramatowski's team dominated the courts in 2025, recording 15 three-set sweeps in 32 matches throughout the season. She also coached Brayden Hipp to AVCA Central All-Region status and American Setter of the Year, while Jill Hanson earned an AVCA Central All-Region award and American Freshman of the Year. Hipp and Hanson together received First Team All-Conference honors, while Hanson and Maegan Mills were selected to the All-Freshman Team, for which Hanson was a unanimous choice.
Ramatowski has transformed the volleyball program into a consistently winning squad that exudes joy and passion for the game while buying into the program's three core pillars of commitment, love and excellence. She has compiled a 61-33 overall record with 18 or more wins in each of her first three seasons to kick off her head coaching career.
While at TU, Ramatowski's players have earned three AVCA All-Region honors, one AVCA All-America award, one Academic All-America distinction, one American Conference Setter of the Year, one American Libero of the Year, one American Freshman of the Year, five First Team All-Conference awards, two All-Freshman honors and 11 CSC Academic All-District awards. Two players (Kayley Cassaday and Marta Pecalli) have gone pro since Ramatowski's arrival.
Formerly Lauren Mathewson and a native of Kansas City, Mo., Ramatowski came to TU following an assistant coaching career that included stints at Kansas State, Arkansas, Washburn and UTRGV. She was a libero/defensive specialist for Kansas State from 2007-10, where she was a two-time Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and to this day holds the K-State record for digs in a single match (41).
