Tulsa, Okla - The University of Tulsa got 23 points and 17 rebounds out of senior All-American candidate Jillian Robbins, in addition to a career best 13 points from fellow post player Teka Brooks. However, it was not enough as SMU was able to hold its lead down the strech for a 64-54 Conference USA victory at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday. A crowd of 542 witnessed both teams open C-USA play. The win ends a three game winning streak TU had in the series.
Robbins also posted team-highs with four assists, two steals and all three of TU's blocked shots. Brooks went 6-of-7 from the field for the Hurricane as well. Senior Tandem Mays also contributed nine points for Tulsa.
TU now travels to Birmingham, Ala., on Friday, Jan. 5th to face UAB, before traveling to Memphis on Sunday to face the Tigers.
