Tulsa Rowers Post Six Wins at Wichita Frostbite Regatta

TU brought home the gold medal in every event they competed in, including the Open 2-, Open 2x, Novice 4+, Lightweight 4+, Open 4+ and Varsity 8+.

The University of Tulsa women's rowing team turned in six top finishes and medaled 11 boats on Sunday afternoon at the Wichita Frostbite Regatta in Wichita, Kansas.

TU brought home the gold medal in every event they competed in, including the Open 2-, Open 2x, Novice 4+, Lightweight 4+, Open 4+ and Varsity 8+.  Tulsa also swept the competition in the Open 2-, finishing in the No. 1 through No. 4 slots, and in the Varsity 8+, taking the top three finishes as well.

"It was a successful day for TU," junior coxswain and team co-captain Nicole Falvo said.  "Everyone went out and gave it there best and did an amazing job.  I am very proud and impressed with our team today."

This was the final regatta for TU this fall, but the Golden Hurricane will continue racing next March.

"It was a pretty good ending to the fall season," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "I am very pleased with our racing today.  We have worked on creating speed this fall and today's race showed we have done just that.  We have finished competing this fall, but we plan to return next spring ready to hit the water with even more speed."
