Tulsa Women Face UCF in Tourney Opener

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team (18-4) will host UCF to open play at the 2007 Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m.
The Hurricane enter the tournament as the top seed and are the highest ranked team in the conference with a national ranking of No. 44 in the latest Fila/ITA National Rankings.
The No. 8 seed UCF opened tournament play with a first round win over No. 9 seed East Carolina, 4-0.
In other action at the tournament, No. 6 seed UTEP grabbed a 4-0 win over No. 11 seed Memphis, while in the tournament's first upset, No. 10 seed Rice upended No. 7 seed Houston, 4-1.
Aside from Tulsa's matchup with UCF, tomorrow's action will feature No. 4 seed UAB against No. 5 seed Southern Miss at 10 a.m., while No. 2 seed SMU will square off with Rice and No. 3 seed Marshall will face UTEP.
