TU Volleyball Falls at Marshall, 3-1

Huntington, W. Va. - Senior Julia Silva recorded 14 kills, 31 assists and 12 digs for The University of Tulsa volleyball squad on Sunday afternoon. However, it was not enough as the Thundering Herd of Marshall handed TU its first C-USA loss of the season, 3-1 (30-26, 30-26, 31-33, 30-20) at the Cam Henderson Fieldhouse in Huntington, W. Va.
Silva led the team in kills, for her second triple-double of the season, while fellow senior Fabiola Nepomuceno added 12 kills. Freshman Emma Ridley rounded out a trio of TU attackers with double-figure kill performances with 10 kills.
Silva also led a trio of players with double-figure dig performances, as junior Malorey Grove posted 10 digs and freshman Jessie Ayers posted 11. Silva is the only person in Conference USA to have posted a triple-double this season.
The Hurricane (13-4, 1-1 C-USA) will return to action on Friday, Sept. 28th with a trip to New Orleans, La. Tulsa and Tulane will face off in a 7 p.m. match.
