Marcinkowska Advances to Main Draw Singles at ITA Regionals

Salt Lake City, Utah - Marta Marcinkowska won her second round qualifying singles match on Wednesday to advance to the Main Draw Singles at the ITA Regionals in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marcinkowska defeated Weber State's Greyce Farias, 6-0, 6-0, after receiving a first round bye to advance to the first round of Main Draw Singles on Thursday at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center on the University of Utah campus.
Freshman Anastasia Erofeeva lost her first round qualifying singles match to New Mexico State's Laura Boguet, 6-2, 6-3, ending her run at making the Main Draw Singles.
The Hurricane will have a total of five players participating in the first day of Main Draw action at the ITA Regionals. Jie Zeng, Alexandra Kichoutkin, Thalia Diaz-Barriga and Rebecca Row will join Marcinkowska in the first round of singles. In doubles, Tulsa will have three pairs playing on Thursday with Row/Zeng, Diaz-Barriga/Marcinkowska and Erofeeva/Kichoutkin all taking part in the Main Draw.
Play at the ITA Central Regional continues tomorrow at 8 a.m. with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.
