Kichoutkin Ousted in Quarterfinals on Saturday at ITA Regionals

Salt Lake City, Utah - Alexandra Kichoutkin lost her Main Draw quarterfinal singles match to New Mexico's Ola Abou-Zerky, 6-1, 6-3, on Saturday at ITA Central Regional Championships. The loss ends Kichoutkin's run at the Main Draw singles title on a day full of upsets from Salt Lake City, Utah.
The nation's top-ranked Aurelija Miseviciute from Arkansas lost her quarterfinal round match to Nebraska's unranked Wiveca Swarting. Swarting defeated Oklahoma's Ana Maria Contantinescu in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's Main Draw Singles final against Anouk Tigu of Arkansas. Tigu defeated three higher-seeded players on her way to the finals.
In consolation singles, Anastasia Erofeeva dropped her quarterfinals match to Colorado's Melissa Esposito, 6-3, 6-2.
Kichoutkin and Erofeeva were the last two remaining Tulsa players in the tournament.
Play at the ITA Central Region Championships concludes on Sunday with the consolation final and doubles semifinal at 9:00 a.m., followed by the singles main draw final at 10:30 a.m. and the doubles final afterwards.
