Tulsa Women Golfers in 14th Place at Tar Heel Invitational

Chapel Hill, NC - The Tulsa women's golf team sits in 14th place after one round with an opening score of 311 at the Tar Heel Invitational on Friday.
Freshman Kamryn Ruffin had the best round of the day for the Hurricane with a two-over par round 74 and sits in an 11-way tie for 14th place. Fellow freshman Marita Engzelius is in 37th place after a first round score of 77, while junior Brooke Baker is next for the Hurricane with a round of 79.
Senior Woori Shin carded an opening round 81, while sophomore Kelly Fuchik had an 82 at the Tar Heel Invitational.
There's a five-way tie for first place individually heading into Saturday's second round action, as Virginia's Lene Krog and Jenie Arseneault, Kent State's Mercedes Germino, and a pair of Wake Forest golfers, Nannette Hill and Natalie Sheary, all carded rounds of 71 on Friday.
ACC schools' Wake Forest, Virginia and North Carolina sit in the first three positions, as Wake and UVA are tied for first-place with opening rounds of six-over par 294, and North Carolina is in third place at 299. Louisville and Texas A&M are tied for fourth-place with a 301 total.
The tournament continues on Saturday with second round action.
