Tulsa Posts 25-Point Win Over Central Arkansas

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's basketball team posted a 25-point win, 63-38, over Central Arkansas on Saturday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU snapped a four-game losing streak to move to 3-4 on the season, while UCA fell to 2-4.
Larrissa Williams led all Golden Hurricane players with 15 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Meoshi Bradley and Teka Brooks added seven points apiece, while Chanel Johnson posted six points.
The Sugar Bears got on the board first with a free throw by Mariesha Piggee, but the teams traded baskets until Tulsa took the lead, 5-3, with just over two minutes ticked off the clock and never turned back. The Golden Hurricane built a 10-point early lead, 13-3, while holding UCA scoreless for over five minutes off the clock, and took a 29-23 advantage into the break.
In the second half, Tulsa continued to dominate and finished with a game-high 25-point lead.
TU shot 32-percent from the field and 35-percent from behind the arc, but it was the Bears who out-rebounded the Golden Hurricane, 53-42. Tulsa also had 23 points off turnovers and 29 points off the bench.
UCA was led by Destinee Rogers who posted 10 points, and Marci Moffitt who pulled down a team-best eight boards.
The Golden Hurricane will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 9th, at Arkansas-Little Rock. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.
