Tulsa, Okla. - Thirteen student-athletes from The University of Tulsa women's rowing team were named as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the same organization.
Vanessa Andrews, Allison Bridge, Emily Callen, Chelsea Cornell, Meaghan Dooley, Nicole Falvo, Hannah Grafe, Danielle Guccione, Sinead Higgins, Becky Jenschke, Leslie Sanditen, Michelle Sechser and Susan Stangl are TU's award recipients. The 13 Golden Hurricane student-athletes have: 1) met all eligibility rules as defined by Tulsa, 2) are in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of eligibility, 3) have rowed in TU's NCAA or IRA eligible boats for a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races and 4) have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher during their career.
"I am really excited that our team is doing so well academically," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We know the women who come to TU are exceptional student-athletes, and this confirms that they excel in the classroom and in the boats."
