TULSA, Okla. -- Tulsa made a quick comeback in the fourth quarter, but the Golden Hurricane fell just short against Boise State, dropping the game, 28-21, Wednesday evening at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
Down 28-14 and running out of time, the Golden Hurricane forced Boise State to punt, and took over on its own 11 yard line with 10:47 remaining in the game. After stalling on offense in the second half, Tulsa returned to the quick-strike offense it has been most known for the last two seasons.
Following an incomplete pass and a screen that lost two yards, quarterback G.J. Kinne found Slick Shelley open down the middle of the field for a 36-yard gain. On the next play, Kinne again hit Shelley, who had run past the Broncos defense, for a 55-yard touchdown that pulled Tulsa to within seven points, 28-21, with 9:29 left in the game.

The Golden Hurricane then took the following possession and went on a long drive of its own for a touchdown that put TU ahead, 14-8.
