Tulsa, Okla. - The 32nd-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team lost to Oklahoma, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, snapping the Hurricane's nine-match winning streak. Tulsa drops to a 13-3 record, while the Sooners improve to 4-5 on the season.

Tulsa fell behind early, dropping the doubles point with losses in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Alexandra Kichoutkin and Rebecca Row easily defeated Peta Maree Lancaster and Kristina Radan, 8-1, in the No. 3 position to pick up the lone doubles victory.

The Golden Hurricane fought back in singles but was able to secure only three wins, falling short of the four needed for the win. Sophomore Alexandra Kichoutkin won a marathon three-set match against Ana-Maria Constantinescu, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3), ending Constantinescu's perfect 7-0 start to the duel season.

Junior Marta Marcinkowska knocked off Peta Maree Lancaster, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 4 slot, and freshman Anastasia Erofeeva defeated Tara Eckel, 6-3, 7-5, in No. 5 singles.

No. 32 Tulsa hits the road this weekend to take on Kansas this Saturday, March 7, at 1:00 p.m. in Lawrence, Kan., followed by a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday, March 8, against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.
