Stout Wins C-USA Player of the Week Award

TULSA, Okla. - Senior Hannah Stout hit .541 last week, leading The University of Tulsa volleyball team to three wins, including two on the road, and was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
This is the fourth career C-USA weekly award for the Bloomington, Ill., native, and her first award this season. In three, 3-0, wins last week, she grounded 24 kills in 37 attacks, committing just four errors, averaging 2.67 kills per set. She added three blocks and averaged 2.83 points per set.
"More than anything, we're excited about Hannah's play last week," Tulsa Head Coach Ed Allen said. "She is returning to the form of her first three years, hitting for a high percentage. She has been a consistent attacker for us throughout her career. We're excited to see her finish her career on a strong note."
Wednesday against cross-town rival Oral Roberts, Stout stepped up with perhaps her best offensive performance of the season, coming up with big kills when the Golden Hurricane needed crucial points. She tallied 12 kills, and did so very efficiently, hitting .688 for the match with just one error. She also added a pair of blocks. Friday at Marshall, she hit .500 with seven kills against just one error, adding a block and a dig. Sunday at East Carolina, Stout hit .333 with five kills.
The Golden Hurricane (19-2, 9-0 C-USA) returns to action Friday as it continues a four-match road swing in Houston. TU plays at Houston at 7 p.m. Friday, and at Rice Sunday at 1 p.m. The Hurricane returns home Oct. 29-31, as it plays host to UTEP, Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., and UCF Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
