TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa volleyball team debuted in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll this week at No. 25, entering the national rankings for the first time in school history.

The Golden Hurricane, 23-2 overall and 13-0 in Conference USA play, holds the nation's longest winning streak at 22 matches after sweeping both UTEP and UCF last weekend. The streak ties the C-USA record for consecutive wins, set by Louisville in 2004.

"First of all, this was one the main goals we had when we took over four years ago," Head Coach Ed Allen said. "I am thrilled for Tulsa and thrilled for Conference USA.

"We were fortunate to win the Conference USA championships in 2006 and 2007, and we were disappointed last year coming up short of a conference championship. But now, we've reached another one of our goals we had coming in. We're excited to see what other goals we can achieve this year."

The Hurricane returns to action this weekend when it plays host to East Carolina Friday at 7 p.m., and Marshall Sunday at 1 p.m.
