Women's Golf Finishes Eighth at Alamo Invite

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Junior Sarah Elliot shot a 75 Tuesday to tie for 15th, and Tulsa finished eighth at the Alamo Invitational at the par-72 Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
The Golden Hurricane totaled a 306 on the final day to total 903 for the tournament. Elliot shot a 75 in the final round and totaled 223 for the tournament, while junior Marita Engzelius shot a 77 Tuesday to tie for 20th with a three-round 224.
Sophomore Kristina Merkle totaled a 229 after carding a 78 in the third round, and freshman Charlotte Brooks and junior Kamryn Ruffin each shot a 77 to total 230 and 231, respectively.
TCU took home the team title with a three-round 877, and TCU individual Brooke Beeler won the individual medal honors with a three-round total of 212.
The Golden Hurricane has completed the fall portion of its 2010-11 schedule, and will next tee it up Feb. 13-14, 2011, at the Texas State invitational in Victoria, Texas.
