Tulsa Ties #15 UCF, 1-1

Tulsa's 19th-ranked men's soccer team battled 15th-ranked UCF to a 1-1 double-overtime tie on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU moved to 9-5-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in Conference USA, while the Knights went to 11-3-3 overall and 4-1-3 in the league. With the tie, TU will advance to the C-USA Championship, which is set to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 10th in Memphis, Tenn.
Kyle Cumings scored his first goal of the season and first of his career in the 23rd minute off a cross from Chris Taylor. Christian Eissele tied the contest 16 minutes later as he drilled in a pass from Spencer Scott from 20 yards out on the right side and neither team would find the back of the net in the following 70 minutes.
Ashley McInnes had a team-leading eight shots, five of which were on goal, while Austin Neil added four attempts. Ray Clark logged all 110 minutes in goal and picked up three saves.
TU out-shot UCF, 26-8, including 12-4 lead in shots on goal. The Golden Hurricane edged the Knights, 4-3, in corner kicks.
Information for the C-USA Championship will be released on Sunday, Nov. 7th.
