Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik
Opening Statement...
"Great win for us. It was a gut-check win. We've been through some tough times. I start the year with four point-guards on the roster, and we're down to one. MVP of the game in my mind is Bryson Pope. A lot of different guys deserve a lot of credit, but Bryson Pope played a great game. He handled the ball with authority. We play forty-five minutes. Shane Heirman was starting his first college game. We have Bryson Pope backing him up in that position, and we have thirteen turnovers in forty-five minutes. Justin Hurtt has been a warrior. He's played a lot of minutes in his career. I understand him cramping up a little bit. It was a really good win for us. I'm just really proud of the guys."
Tulsa Guard #15 Justin Hurtt
On getting the win...
"It was really important. I felt like we really gutted it out. We all played really hard the whole game. We fought back from a deficit. I felt like everybody did a really good job tonight."
On making big shots and taking control of the game...
"I really felt like I had to take control of the game, especially after last game and losing in double overtime. We had another game tonight that was an overtime game. So I felt like I really needed to do that and take it upon myself."
Weber State Head Coach Randy Rahe
Opening Statement...
"I'm really proud of our kids. We talk a lot about competing and being tough and being resilient. I have a bunch of kids that just keep fighting. I was very proud of them. There was a number of times when we could have let it slip away early. We had some kids banged up. We were doing it with a makeshift crew out there. I had three freshmen running around out there. We were trying to win a basketball game on the road against what I think is a very good Tulsa team. We were just trying to find a way to win. But I was really proud of our guys. I felt like we're getting better. I feel bad for them because I felt like they really left it out on the court. I thought Tulsa played extremely hard as well. I know they are banged up some. I thought those kids showed a lot of heart and a lot of determination. It was just a good college basketball game."
