Tulsa Women's Golfers Maintain Second Place at Islander Classic

Corpus Christi, Texas - The Tulsa women's golfers shot 12 strokes better today with a 303 score and maintained their second-place spot with a 618 total after two rounds at the Stripes Islander Golf Classic at the par-72 Corpus Christi Country Club in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Kristina Merkle currently sits in third place with her two-round 150 total, followed by Sarah Elliot who turned in a team-best even par 72 in today's round for a 152 total and seventh place performance. Marita Engzelius is tied for 20th place with a 158, while Abby Allford is one stroke back in 25th place. Shu-Yin Liu owns a 163 total for 40th place.
North Texas moved into the top spot, carding a tournament-best 299 score today for a 615 two-day total. Tulsa and Oral Roberts are three strokes back in second place, while UTEP has a 621 total for fourth place and Sam Houston State has tallied a 623 total for fifth place.
Sam Houston State's Kirsten Spittler has a three-stroke lead with a two-over par 146 total.
The third and final round will tee off on Tuesday.
