TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Golden Hurricane volleyball squad fell to the SMU Mustangs 3-1 (19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 23-25) in a Conference USA match Wednesday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

"I felt like SMU came in here and wanted it more than we did, and played that way," Tulsa Head Coach Steven McRoberts said. "They had lost their first three conference matches, came back and beat Houston, and I think they know their margin for error is little to none, and they played with a sense of urgency. We just didn't come in and match their intensity on that. We're going to have to get better and we're going to have to mature as a team. We're going to come back at practice tomorrow and have a good hard practice in order to get ready for Southern Miss this weekend. We have to get over this, get ready for the next match and get better."
Tulsa hit .181 as a team (62-31-171) with 62 kills, 57 assists, six service aces, 73 digs and 6.0 blocks. SMU hit .221 (44-14-136) with 44 kills, 42 assists, four aces, 68 digs and 15.0 blocks.

SMU was led by Caroline Young with four kills in the first set, while Kelli Becerra had five assists.
