Fort Worth, Texas - Taleya Mayberry and Chanice Scott each scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Tulsa dropped a 60-43 decision to TCU on Tuesday night at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. TU fell to 3-6 on the season, while the Horned Frogs moved to 6-5 overall.

"I think you can point directly to the fact that we shot 23-percent tonight," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said. "We missed wide-open shots, we took bad shots and missed those. We did a lot of things. We held them to 60, which is about their average, but we feel if we hold a team to 60 we have a good chance to win. We outrebounded them, we had more steals, the turnovers were pretty even, but it comes down to the fact that we have to make shots. We just weren't knocking down shots tonight."

Mayberry had a team-best 13 points, three steals, two assists and a block in 37 minutes of play, while Scott added 10 points and Taylor Hooker had eight points and a team-leading 13 rebounds.

TU had a 47-43 advantage in rebounds and a 7-6 lead in steals, but TCU had a 7-2 advantage in blocked shots. The Hurricane shot just 23-percent from the field, including 16-percent from behind the arc, and went 9-for-13 (69-percent) from the charity stripe, all of which were in the second half.

There were eight lead changes in the first half and TU had an 18-17 lead with 5:11 left to play, but the Horned Frogs closed out the frame with a 12-0 run to take a 29-18 advantage into the break. Mayberry had six points, while Loren McDaniel and Scott each added four, and Tiffani Couisnard had four rebounds.

TU's shooting continued to struggle in the second half as the Hurricane made just eight of 36 field goal attempts and couldn't overcome the first-half deficit.

TCU was led by Briesha Wynn with 11 points, followed by Latricia Lovings with nine, while both players had seven rebounds. Lovings and Ashley Colbert each had three blocks.

Tulsa will return to action on Wednesday, December 28th at home against Nebraska Omaha. Game time is set for 6:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
