Recap |  Box Score

Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik
Opening Statement...
"That was a great home win. It was a great Senior Day with a great crowd and great enthusiasm. We didn't shoot the ball well at all in the first half. We got to the free throw line, which was really important. We drove the ball and threw it inside, yet we were still in the game. Our lack of shooting really allowed them to score in the first half. We talked about it at halftime. We just said `Be ready to shoot.' We really came on and made some shots. Scottie Haralson made some shots, which was really big for us. We also played pretty darn well down the stretch. We have to give them credit though, they drive the ball extremely well and they rebound the ball extremely well on the offensive glass."

On playing in the Conference USA tournament...
"I think we're healthy. I don't think we had any concussions today. I think Kodi Maduka is fine. I think Kodi did well considering the soreness in his ankle. Our depth is good and our health is good. We normally play in El Paso very well. I love their floor. It's a true basketball arena that's very similar to the Reynolds Center. Their fans are very educated fans. They're good fans."

Tulsa Senior Justin Hurtt
On winning the game...
"It feels really good. It's a good team. It was a really tough challenge as far as seeding in the tournament, and we did well."

On the threes in the second half exciting the crowd...
"That was the momentum changer in the game. We felt like we really had control of the game and we took off from there."

On the large crowd...
"It was the loudest I felt like it had been all year. It was a great crowd and I really appreciate it on my senior night. It was a great feeling."

Tulsa Freshman Jordan Clarkson
On his changing his play during halftime...
"It was just clearing my head, forgetting about the first half when I missed a couple shots and just coming out and playing strong."

On what he's learned from Justin
"What I learned from him is that through all the ups and downs he stayed with the team and stayed with the concept and got through this."

Southern Miss Head Coach Larry Eustachy
Opening statement...
"I'm really proud of Doug and his team. When you watched them on tape early they were just terrible, and I mean that in a good way. Where he's gotten his team to now, that's good coaching. He's got good players, good listeners and good talent. We just couldn't make the plays down the stretch. We just broke down defensively. I thought the two teams are similar and it was a very physical game. Probably making it hard to call. It just shows you what this league is made of."
