TULSA, Okla. - The No. 20-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team defeated No. 31 Oklahoma 5-2 Saturday night inside Case Tennis Center.

The Golden Hurricane (4-1) took the doubles point and won four of six singles matches over the Sooners (4-2). TU has now won two in a row over its rivals, and the blue and gold extended its home win streak to 27-straight matches.

"I am happy with the way we competed tonight," Tulsa Head Coach Dean Orford said. "It's always good to get a win over such a great team. The two teams are very similar, and we always have tough battles with them because they are so well-coached. We're happy to be able to get a win tonight over our rivals."

Senior Bonny Davidson and sophomore Samantha Vickers got Tulsa started on the right foot by defeating Whitney Wofford and Nicole Long 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.

The senior duo of Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska was unable to upset No. 22 Marie-Pier Huet and Whitney Ritchie at the top of the doubles lineup, but the Golden Hurricane took claim to the first point of the match after junior Michelle Farley and freshman Isaura Enrique defeated Abbi Melrose and Mia Lancaster 8-4 from the third court.

The visiting Sooners were able to tie the score at 1-1 after Long defeated Davidson 6-4, 6-4 to open singles play from the bottom of the lineup.

Tulsa went back on top after Farley dropped Wofford 6-2, 6-0 from the fifth court.

Enrique fell to Melrose 6-3, 6-4 from the fourth flight as OU again equalized at 2-all, but the Golden Hurricane swept the top three courts and never relinquished another point.

The third point of the match for TU came from the third court as Szatkowska defeated Lancaster 6-0, 7-6 (9-7), and Tulsa sealed the match after No. 63-ranked Vickers defeated Huet 6-3, 6-4 from the top court.

No. 78-ranked Erofeeva gave the home side an extra point after dropping Ritchie 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) from the second flight.
