Golden Hurricane Sweeps Cardinals, 7-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 26-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team swept Louisville 7-0 Sunday morning at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Golden Hurricane (17-3) swept all nine matches to win its seventh-straight match, while the Cardinals (10-8) saw their five-match win streak come to an end.
The newly-comprised duo of sophomore Samantha Vickers and freshman Isaura Enrique were the first off court in doubles action, as they dispatched of Julia Fellerhoff and Sarah Miller 8-2 on the second court.
The No. 69-ranked senior tandem of Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska clinched the opening point of the match with an 8-1 decision over Amelia Harris and Gabrielle Duncan at the top of the order. Junior Michelle Farley and sophomore Maria Sant'Anna made it a clean sweep with an 8-7 (8-6) victory over Manuela Velasquez and Rebecca Shine on the third court.
For the second-straight day, the Golden Hurricane swept all six singles matches.
Szatkowska gave Tulsa its first point in singles action with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Mandy Brown at the third flight, and No. 75 Vickers topped Shine 7-5, 6-1 at the second position.
Farley took down Miller 6-4, 6-2 on the fifth court to clinch the team victory, and Sant'Anna gave the visitors their fifth point with a 6-3, 7-5 decision over Harris from the bottom of the order.
Enrique dropped Velasquez 7-5, 6-4 from the fourth flight, and No. 83 Erofeeva closed out the dominating effort with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 triumph over Fellerhoff on the top court.
Tulsa is set to return to the friendly confines of Case Tennis Center, as the team will play host to No. 40 Arkansas at 1 p.m. April 11.
