FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Maria Sant'Anna won the Wimbledon Flight as the University of Tulsa women's tennis team won five matches Sunday.
Sant'Anna defeated Tatiana Larina of Northwestern State 6-1 and then Larina retired.
Dobby Leenabanchong fell to Anki Wind of Memphis 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the back draw of the Wimbledon Flight.
Carol Benito defeated Lindsey Whitehead of Auburn 6-2, 6-2 in the back draw of the French Open Flight.
Renata Kuricova defeated Alyssa Hibberd of Memphis 7-6 (5), 6-1 and Saana Saarteinen fell to Paula de Mann of Auburn 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the back draw of the U.S. Open Flight.
The doubles team of Saarteinen and Kuricova defeated the doubles team of Liza Tymchenko and Marta Morga of Memphis 8-4, while Sant'Anna and Leenabanchong defeated the doubles team of Reka Muller and de Mann of Auburn 8-5 in the Australian Open Flight.
Benito partnered with Flavia Araujo of Arkansas to defeated Nataly Krutova and Daniela Simonova of Northwestern State 8-7 (5) in the back draw of the Australian Open Flight.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action on Oct. 17 with the USTA/ITA central regional in Norman, Okla.
