Junior Samantha Vickers and sophomore Isaura Enrique fell to Jacqueline Cako and Nicole Smith of Arizona State, 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16 at the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship on Friday at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The loss marked the end of a remarkable season for the Tulsa tandem, which achieved a program high ranking of No. 9 on January 3 after advancing to the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoor Championship. The duo achieved a 35-5 ledger this season, with a 12-3 record against ranked opponents.
The match marked the end of the season for the Tulsa women’s tennis team, which returns seven of its eight letterwinners from this season.
