Eleven Tulsa Rowers Named as CRCA Scholar Athletes

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Eleven Tulsa rowers were named as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athletes, as announced today by the CRCA. All student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, row in a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
"I am extremely proud that 11 of our women were chosen as CRCA Scholar Athletes," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "Our whole team prides itself on academic success as much as how fast we are in the boats. The athletes on this list have worked hard in a challenging academic environment and I am happy they are being recognized for their efforts."
Among the honorees are seniors Brooke Helmberger (Psycholgoy/3.96), Carly Schmidt (Political Science/3.52) and Renee Vanasse (Economics/3.85); juniors Jamie Roloff (Exercise and Sports Science/3.65) and Colleen Wohlrab (Exercise and Sports Science & Psychology/3.54); and sophomores Jerusha Blankenship (Elementary Education/3.55), Marissa Catalanotto (Biochemistry/3.63), Emily Farrar (Speech Pathology/3.55), Sarah Ringler (Accounting/3.78), Kaitlyn Schneider (Accounting/3.78) and Sam Tober (Accounting/3.68).
Helmberger and Vanasse are three-time honorees, while Roloff and Schmidt have earned the honor twice.
