Berryhill and Bohannon Named to The American Preseason Volleyball Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore's Brooke Berryhill and Erica Bohannon were named to the the American Athletic Conference preseason team, while The University of Tulsa volleyball team was selected to finish fourth in 2014 volleyball preseason coaches poll, as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Berryhill and Bohannon are two of the 14 players named to The American preseason team. Both were named to the C-USA All-Freshmen Team last season, while Berryhill was also named to the C-USA All-Conference Second Team.
Berryhill finished last season with 565 digs (4.67 per set) with 14 assists and 82 assists. In her best performance of the season, she tallied a school-record 41 digs against UTEP.
Bohannon is Tulsa's leading returner in kills. She complied 288 kills (2.40 k/set), and 323.0 points (2.69 pts/set). Her 15 service aces were third best on the team.
The Hurricane enters its first season in The American under first year Head Coach Ryan Wills. TU is coming off a second place finish in Conference USA in 2013. TU finished the season with a 24-7 record, 12-2 in conference play.
The Golden Hurricane kicks off its season on Aug. 29-30 at the Husky Classic in Houston, Texas against Chattanooga, Houston Baptist and Northern Arizona. The home opener takes place during the Golden Hurricane Classic on Sept. 19-20 against Oral Roberts and Mcneese State. TU will open up conference play at home on Sept. 26 against South Florida.
