Women's Tennis Shines on Final Day of Hurricane Invite

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis concluded the Hurricane Invite winning all seven of its singles matches Sunday afternoon to clinch all but one of the Flights, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
With no doubles matches on Sunday the athletes took the court and began singles play, as No. 70 Marcelina Cichon finished off her weekend with a 2-1 record, after beating Wyoming's Magdalena Stencel, 6-1, 6-2, in the Blue Flight. The nations No. 68 singles player Borislava Botusharova was the winner of the Blue Flight after going 3-0 in the Invite.
Rongrong Leenabanchong capped off her perfect 3-0 weekend after a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Wyoming's Dorottya to capture the Gold Flight.
Yelena Nemchen was named the Brown Flight champion after topping Wyoming's Christa Gecheva, 6-1, 6-1. Nemchen won all three of her matches this weekend.
Saana Saarteinen capped off her perfect weekend with a perfect performance against Wyoming's Jessica Parizher, 6-0, 6-0, to capture the White Flight crown.
In the Red Flight, Ksenia Laskutova defeated Wyoming's Cecilia Mercier, 7-6(3), 6-2, to win her flight by going 3-0 on the weekend.
In the Green Flight a pair of Golden Hurricane went against each other, as Mahitha Dadireddy and Alba Perny battled in three sets, before Dadireddy took the Green Flight crown, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, over her TU teammate.
