Tulsa Volleyball Returns Home to Face Memphis and Cincinnati

WEEKLY GAME NOTES

TULSA, Okla. –
The University of Tulsa volleyball team (10-10, 5-3 American) continues American Athletic Conference play this weekend as they return home to take on Memphis and Cincinnati. The Golden Hurricane returns to the Donald W. Reynolds Center to face Memphis on Friday, Oct. 23, at 3:00 p.m., and Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 1:30 p.m.
 
Memphis (13-8, 4-4 American) comes into the match after winning both of their conference matches last weekend, defeating Houston and Tulane. The Cincinnati Bearcats (13-6, 5-3 American) won both of their conference matches last weekend as well, defeating Tulane and Houston.  Live video and live stats for the match will be available at www.TulsaHurricane.com
 
Tulsa is led by, junior outside hitter Erica Bohannon, who averages 3.80 kills per set, and senior middle blocker Ashley Hooper, who averages 2.80 kills per set and .335 attacking percentage. Hooper's impressive play last weekend earned her weekly conference accolades. Junior libero Brooke Berryhill also plays a vital role ranking No.23 nationally in digs per set averaging 5.05, and she is No18 in total digs this year with 414. Sophomore setter Sophie Bethke's ability to facilitate the offense efficiently ranks her No.69 nationally in assists per set averaging 10.38, and she is No.25 in total assist with 851 this season.
 
When Tulsa faces Memphis Friday it will be the 21st match-up in program history. Tulsa leads the series at 12-8. Last season, the Hurricane won its home match against the Tigers, 3-0, but it lost, 3-2, in the match at Memphis. .
 
Sunday's match against Cincinnati will mark the fourth meeting in program history. Tulsa leads the series at 2-1. Last season, the Hurricane won its home match against the Bearcats, 3-2, but it lost, 3-0, in the match at Cincinnati.
 
Due to the expected high traffic on campus Friday night as a result of the homecoming football game against Memphis that's being held at Chapman Stadium, TU volleyball fans will be able to park in the Lafortune residence hall parking lots. Fans should enter on the east side of the parking lot, and if you have issues communicate with the lot attendants you are attending the volleyball match.
