Tulsa Concludes Three-Game Home Stand Against #17 Oklahoma
            Tulsa will conclude their three-game home stand with a contest against #17 Oklahoma.  The game is schedule for a 7:00 pm tip on Wednesday, December 9 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. 
 
The Last Game
            The Tulsa women's basketball team dropped a 67-63 decision to Indiana State on Sunday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. 
            Teanna Reid had a team-best 13 points and seven rebounds, while Kelsee Grovey added 12 points, Liesl Spoerl had eight, and both Crystal Polk and Erika Wakefield scored seven.
            TU shot 37-percent from the field, 42-percent from behind the arc and were 13-of-19 from the charity stripe for 68-percent, compared to ISU's 41-percent from the field, 39-percent from three-point range and 55-percent (10-of-18) from the free throw line.
 
The Opponent
            Oklahoma enters the contest with a 7-1 overall record and a No. 17 ranking by the Associated Press.  The Sooners are led by Peyton Little and Kaylor Williams with 14.4 and 13.3 points per game, respectively.  Williams also has a team-best 8.1 rebounds per game, while T'ona Edwards has 30 assists, Vionise Pierre-Louis has 11 blocks and Little has 16 steals.
 
Series History
            This will be the 26th meeting between Tulsa and Oklahoma, as the Sooners have a 23-2 lead in the all-timer series.  TU picked up a win in the first-ever meeting, 58-53, during the 1976-77 season, as well as a 67-59 victory during the 2004-05 campaign.  The last match up came in the 2008-09 season when OU earned a 94-42 win in Norman.
 
On the Bench
            The Golden Hurricane returns eight letterwinners and one squad member, and welcomes five newcomers this season.  The roster features three seniors - Ashley Clark, Kelsee Grovey and Antoinet Webster; four juniors - Ashley Hughes, Jessica Pongonis, Teanna Reid and Te'era Williams; three sophomores - Jordyn Holmes, Liesl Spoerl and Erika Wakefield; and four freshmen - Jasmine Butler, Tatyana Perez, Crystal Polk and Tyjae' Scales.
 
Clark Named to The American Preseason Team; Hurricane Picked Sixth
            Tulsa guard Ashley Clark was named to the American Athletic Conference preseason all-conference second team, while the team was picked to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.  In the coaches' poll, UConn was predicted to win the 2015-16 American Athletic Conference Championship, while USF was second and Temple third.  East Carolina, Tulane, Tulsa, Memphis, SMU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston round out the poll.
 
Adding Up
            Tulsa junior Ashley Clark became the ninth women's basketball player in school history to score 1,000 career points and one game later Kelsee Grovey tallied her 1,000th point.  Clark currently has 1,164 points and Grovey has 1,140 points.
 
Mossman Has 209 Career Wins
            Matilda Mossman reached the 200-win milestone as Tulsa captured a 70-61 win over UCF on Jan. 31, 2015.  Mossman had 67 wins at Arkansas, 80 wins at Kansas State and currently 62 wins at TU for 209 career victories.
 
In Tulsa's Top 10
            Four current Tulsa women's basketball players have earned their way into Tulsa's Top 10 career lists.
- Ashley Clark is third in double-doubles (11), fourth in field goals made (458), sixth in points (1,164), seventh in rebounds (602), ninth in assists (230) and 10th in free throws made (207)
- Kelsee Grovey is second in three-point field goals made (183), sixth in assists (248), seventh in points (1,140), three-point field goal percentage with a .368 clip (183 of 497), eighth in free throw percentage with a .815 clip (181 of 222), and ninth in field goals made (383) and steals (145)
- Ashley Hughes is seventh in free throw percentage with a .821 clip (23 of 28)
- Teanna Reid is second in three-point field goal percentage with a .411 clip (44 of 107)
 
The Non-Conference Slate
            Tulsa's 11-game non-conference slate features seven games against 2015 postseason teams, five home contests, including games against Oklahoma and Kansas State of the Big 12, and a trip to Las Vegas for the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-Up.
            All 12 of TU's potential non-conference opponents finished last year with double-digit wins, while Arkansas, Oklahoma and UALR competed in the NCAA Tournament; Drake, Kansas State and Northern Iowa played in the WNIT; and Oral Roberts participated in the WBI.
 
The League Opponents
            Tulsa will play host to 10-time National Champion UConn, as well as NCAA Tournament participants USF and Tulane, in American Athletic Conference action.
            Six teams in The American advanced to postseason play last year, as East Carolina, Temple and Tulsa competed in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
 
UConn to Host American Championship
            UConn will host the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., from March 4-7.
 
Tulsa Women's Hoops to Have 12 Games Broadcast Live
            The Tulsa women's basketball team will play 12 games that will be broadcast live on either television or internet. The Hurricane will play six games on the American Digital Network, three games on ESPN3, two games on both ESPN3 and SportsNet New York (SNY), and one on ESPNU.
