Tulsa wore black uniforms at Houston. It was the 11th time this season TU has worn black. TU is 10-2 in black uniforms this year.
Junior guards Shaquille Harrison, Rashad Smith and James Woodard, and junior forward D'Andre Wright all started their 22nd games of the season, and junior guard Rashad Ray started his sixth game of the season.
Harrison started his 89th career game, Woodard started his 85th career game, Wright started his 51st career game, Smith started his 50th career game, and Ray started his sixth career game.
Harrison has started all 89 games in his career, Woodard has started 63 straight games, Wright has started 42 straight games, and Smith has started 27 straight games.
Ray earned his first start since Nov. 29 at Wichita State.
Tulsa increased its winning streak to 12 in a row. It is the longest winning streak since the 1999-00 team won 13 straight games.
The Hurricane improved its record to 10-0 in American Athletic Conference play, and its road record to 7-2.
Tulsa's 10-0 conference record is its best start in league play since the 1968-69 team started league play 10-0.
Tulsa has won seven straight road games, including six consecutive road games in conference play. It is just the second time a TU team has won seven straight road games. The 1919-20 team won 10 straight road contests.
Tulsa improved its record to 4-5 when trailing at halftime, 14-0 when it shoots better from the field than its opponent, and 14-0 when it holds the opponent to 65 points or fewer.
Tulsa has won 21 games in a row against conference opponents, including conference tournament, dating back to the 2013-14 season.
Tulsa's streak of 18 straight regular season conference wins is the longest in program history.
Swannegan recorded at least one block for the 18th game this season. He has a team-high 35 blocks this year, and 104 in his career, ranking sixth all-time at TU.
With 11 points in the game, Woodard now has 1,239 points in his career, ranking 20th on the Tulsa career scoring chart. He needs 49 points to match Rob Washington (1,288 - 1966-69).
Tulsa's 17-5 start is its best 22-game record since the 2009-10 team started 18-4.
