All six Tulsa boats earned medals, including one gold, four silver and one bronze, and the team finished second at the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championship at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J.

"I am pretty happy with second place," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "These women raced their hearts out today and it was very gratifying to see them step up and go after it.  Hats off to UCF for the job they did.  They had a tremendous season.  They are a very good team, are well coached and we hope they have a great showing at the NCAAs."

"Through the generosity of Helen and Andy MacKay, we are able to take the team to the Women's Henley in England later this month," Harris said.  "We are very appreciative of the MacKay's and are excited for this opportunity.  We are also very thankful for the tremendous support from our athletic staff, boosters, fans, parents and alumni.  The entire Golden Hurricane nation has been so supportive this entire season."

Kaitlyn Schneider, Rachel Perry, Rachel Parks, Adrianna Catalanotto and Christen Bianchi turned in a gold medal finish with a time of 8:05.25 in the 3rd Varsity 4+, defeating Temple, UConn and UCF.

"The 3rd Varsity 4+ dominated their race and put us ahead points-wise for most of the day," Harris said.  "They have been working hard and it paid off today because they are conference champions.  I am very proud of them."

The Varsity 8+ claimed the silver medal with a time of 6:41.83, trailing UCF by seven seconds, but topping Sacramento State, SMU, San Diego State and Villanova.

"Heading into the Eights, we were leading the conference, but when the 2nd Varsity 8+ finished second, the Varsity 8+ knew they needed to take first for the title," Harris said.  "UCF was stronger today.  Both teams got faster from last month, but hats off to them.  We are happy to be coming home with a trophy and medals."

Betsy Govig, Hannah Emnett, Kristin Palilionis, Jerusha Blankenship and Allison Kiefer raced the Varsity 4+ to a silver medal finish with a time of 7:40.78 in the Grand Final.  The Golden Hurricane trailed Sacramento State by five seconds, but topped Temple, UCF, San Diego State and SMU.

"The Varsity 4+ just couldn't make up the difference off the start, but they did a good job to finish second," Harris said.

The 2nd Varsity 4+, which consisted of Angela Metzler, Jamie Roloff, Lindsay Crute, Abigail Elggren and Paige Hibbard, also posted a second-place mark in the Grand Final in a time of 7:49.42.  TU was seven seconds behind UCF, but finished ahead of Sacramento State, UConn and Temple.

"The 2nd Varsity 4+ was third in the last 500, but Sacramento State caught a crab and we capitalized on it and sprinted through for the silver medal," Harris said.  "They did a fantastic job."

In the 2nd Varsity 8+, TU turned in a time of 6:51.28 to finish behind UCF by six seconds.  The Hurricane was faster than Sacramento State, Temple, UConn and San Diego State.

TU's 3rd Varsity 8+ was third in the Grand Final, trailing Temple and UConn, but finishing ahead of UCF.

For their efforts this season, Sarah Ringler and Emalia Seto were named to the American Athletic Conference first team, while Hannah Emnett and Jamie Roloff were tabbed to the second team.
