The Tulsa rowers won all seven races, including four against Creighton and three over the MIT Lightweights, on Saturday morning on the Verdigris River in Catoosa, Okla.

"I was pretty pleased with the way the team rowed today," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.   "There are some technical things and racing ideas we have worked on as a team, and in every event we executed that pretty well.  Today is a building block.  It was great to have MIT out from Boston because we knew they would be tough competition for our Lightweights.  We look forward to racing them again in two weeks at the Knecht Cup.  And then Creighton, which is a team we face yearly, so it was great to see the level of commitment our team made to race their best today.  We have to go back and keep getting faster and get prepared for the Knecht Cup, but I am really happy with what we have going on at Tulsa right now."

Tulsa's Lightweight 8+ earned the first victory of the day as they turned in a time of 6:48.6 for a 16-second victory over MIT (7:04.1), while the 2nd Varsity 8+ posted a similar time of 6:49.5 for a 23-second win over Creighton (7:12.6).

In the Varsity 8+ the Golden Hurricane recorded a top time of 6:29.7, followed by Creighton with a time of 6:57.9.

TU and MIT raced in the Lightweight 4+, with Tulsa picking up a nearly 30-second win with a time of 7:45.6 compared to MIT's 8:14.2 time.

Tulsa captured a 25-second win over the Creighton 'A' boat and a 32-second win over the Bluejays' 'B' boat with times of 7:45.3, 8:09.8 and 8:17.7, respectively, in the Varsity 4+.

In the 3rd Varsity 8+ race, Tulsa posted a top time of 7:26.6, followed by the Creighton 'A' boat with a time of 7:48.7 and their 'B' boat with a time of 8:21.5.

In the final race of the day, Abigail Elggren and Lindsay Crute tallied a time of 8:18.1 in the Lightweight 2x to finish ahead of teammates Julia Herrel and Jessica Burke who finished second in a time of 8:55.5.  The MIT boat was third with a time of 9:05.2.

Tulsa will return to action at the Knecht Cup on April 9-10 in West Windsor, N.J.
